1934 Voisin C-25 Awarded Best in Show at Pebble Beach

Judges on pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance paid a lot of attention to the cars attending the event but a specific one caught their attention. Peter Mullin’s 1934 Voisin C-25 Aerodyne managed to stand out from all the amazing vehicles attending the show. Many of the cars Peter Mullin’s vehicles are housed in his automotive museum in Oxnard, California.

The amazing 1934 Voisin C-25 Aerodyne occupied the podium as Best in Show winner of the 2011 Concours d’Elegance. Furthermore, this was a first-time entry for the European classic, which is an amazing example of French design. The car was build by Avions-Voisin, that began its activity by building planes. The first model that the company has produced came in the form of the C-2 which was unveiled at the Paris motor show in 1920.

Also, the C-25 with its Art Deco styling, unique fenders and mechanized roof was likewise revealed in Paris more than a decade later.Only 28 units were manufactured of the C-25, which included the Cimier and Charlere design variants and of course the Aerodyne.

Each model was powered by a 3.0 liter inline-6 with an output of about 100 hp. The C-25 Aerodyne is a sleeve-valve engine, which Mullin calls, "one of the most complicated things of all time, because the cylinders move up and down. It's very quiet, but if you don't have it right you really don't have it right; someone said to me 'Peter, if you have a Voisin that doesn't smoke, there's something wrong with the engine,” as msn cites.
