15,000 Fans to See Alonso's Debut in the Ferrari F10

Valencia's Ricardo Tormo Circuit will have its grandstands almost full on Wednesday, when Fernando Alonso will test-drive his new Ferrari F10 for the first time. The day has finally come for the 2-time world champion to take Ferrari's 2010 challenger to the track, after two days in which his teammate Felipe Massa rules the testing sessions in Spain.

The Brazilian driver ended both days in Valencia on top of the time scoring reports, while also setting fastest laps in each of the 4 sessions so far (morning/afternoon on Monday and Tuesday). Alonso will take over from Massa later today, and the crowd is expected to go nuts about it.

According to several reports from the publications present at the Valencia track for the testing meeting this week, more than 15,000 spectators were already in the Ricardo Tormo grandstands to see Alonso arrive to Cheste. Additionally, almost 7,000 fans came to Valencia with the sole thought of seeing Michael Schumacher do a whole day of testing for Mercedes.

So imagine what will happen on Wednesday, when Alonso and Schumacher will once again duel on track, for the first time since late 2006.

During the Monday afternoon session, Felipe Massa managed to score a time almost 3 tenths of a second better than Schumacher. Now Alonso will try to keep the Scuderia on top of the final timing reports, with world champion Jenson Button also making his first appearance in the McLaren Mercedes MP4-25 on Wednesday.

As for Massa, the Brazilian already took his flight to Brazil to meet with his wife Raffaela and son Felipinho, before heading back to Europe for the upcoming test event in Jerez.
