Ever wondered how you can make a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 look slow? Sure, you could race it against a machine with a much better power-to-weight ratio, but that would be too simple, right? Well, how about dialing it to 800 hp and then throwing the thing as a pickup truck whose output goes deep into four-digit territory?
And if such a process sounds a bit complicated, you should that aftermarket developer Late Model Racecraft recently did just that. In a bid to bring its monster GMC Denali under the spotlights, the specialist used this against a C7-generation Corvette Z06 it has modified.

What do the numbers tell us? Well, the 'Vette packs 800 ponies, while the truck has been pushed all the way to 1,300 hp.

"When starting the build on this Denali we knew we were going to make some power but once we finally got the truck on the dyno we knew we had a monster! So we took it out to the street to see what it could actually do against an 800 HP LMR C7 Z06!" the tuner explains.

The two were brought together on the road, engaging in a good old rolling start drag race. And you can check out the result in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page.

Then again, if you pay attention to the video, you'll notice that the battle wasn't exactly fair.

Zoom in on the starting phase of the race and you'll notice a delay coming from the driver of the Chevy. That pause was enough for the twin-turbo Denali to take off and gain a serious advantage.

As the Corvette Z06 kept accelerating, the Chevy seemed to catch up but... the lights went out.

Then again, the "choreography" doesn't take away the spectacular nature of the shenanigan, which is why we brought this to you.
