BMW's history always provides the right kind of retired parts bin when it comes to extreme tuning projects and we're here to give you the latest adventure of this kind, all with a strong E30 aroma.
However, while the senior model seen in the video below might be a 3 Series Coupe, the storm under the hood comes from an E35 M5 heart. The 3.6-liter straight-six in question delivers a little over 300 ponies when found in factory stock form, but this is far from the case here.

In fact, the engine has been gifted with a Precision-supplied turbocharger that's nothing short of monstrous. The 82mm turbo allows the six-cylinder unit to deliver 1,225 PS and 1,250 Nm of torque (make that 1,208 hp and 922 lb-ft of twist). Oh, and the piece of footage at the bottom of the page shows the extreme E30 having its way with the dyno.

In terms of quarter mile performance, this Bimmer can complete the 1,320 feet run in 9.19s at 256 km/h (159 mph). As those of you following the drag strip realm have noticed, the ET performance is not quite where it should be, but we expect that to be connected to the obvious traction issues such a car has.

The project comes from Boba Motoring and if the name sounds familiar, it's probably because you've seen their similarly-powered VW Golf creatures in action. The German shop likes to take Mk I and Mk II Golfs that come with a stock exterior and gift them with well over 1,200 hp, so here's a link in case you missed their previous adventures.

When it comes to the appearance of the BMW we have here, the car finds itself halfway between all the look-at-me E30 you'll find out there and the discrete Volkswagens we mentioned above. You'll find all the details in the clip below. Gues we can still call this BMW a sleeper...
