Herman Young and his desire to make the 'Demonology' channel one of the best places for Mopar quarter-mile aficionados have led to the discovery, salvage, and rebuild of an LX Charger into a veritable monster.
Folks who love the quarter-mile dragstrip shenanigans taking place around Texas probably have witnessed firsthand some of the courage feats of Herman Young, a YouTuber who loves Mopars and racing above all else. He's also fond of customization and personalization, but he's an intelligent guy – he leaves that up to the professionals he's friends with.

His star rose to fame soon after he took home a Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and started fiddling with him. Nicknamed 'Soul Snatcher' for obvious nitrous and supercharged reasons, he has steadily risen to fame in the racing community because he's got a likable personality and the prowess to back up his racing claims.

More recently, he had to give up on his trusted Demon and moved on to buying and modifying one of the 'Last Call' editions – now called 'Black Ghost' and packing around 1,200 horsepower of quarter-mile dragstrip love. He's always looking for competition and the next challenger, so don't be surprised at him racing stuff like 7-second CTS-Vs or 1,500-hp twin-turbo GT-Rs, among many others.

But he's also got a side project that was explicitly created for participation in MotorTrend's Roadkill Nights events – a 2009 Dodge Charger that was completely dismantled and rebuilt into a crazy vehicle sporting an SRT Hellcat Redeye swap, nitrous, and nothing but the bare essentials for racing. It's essentially a one-off Mopar used solely for quarter-mile brawls with around 1,000 hp on tap and a desire to stand out in any crowd.

Of course, Young also has a nickname for it – Silverback. The latest feature (embedded below) shows Herman at his beloved Texas Motorplex (aka 'Where speed was born') in Ennis, Texas, where he seems to know each and every racer as if they are family (that's essentially true in these tight-knit enthusiast communities). So, while the Hello Kitty GT-R was there, they didn't want to race him again, so he picked up a new challenger – Kraken Motorsports' 1,000-hp twin-turbo 2005 Subaru WRX STI.

The contender was allowed to choose his preferred lane, and then they went all out like there was no more tomorrow. Of course, as always, there can be only one in the end, and the gap was relatively easy to spot, even on the shaky night footage. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the ETs and trap speeds – though it was obviously Herman's race from start to finish. Hopefully, he will soon invest in better cameras or at least show us the time slip at the end of the videos – we're curious about the times of his crazy Charger!
