YAMAHA V-Star Bolt R Cafe (2014-2016) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Yamaha Bolt or Star Bolt was a cruiser and a cafe racer motorcycle that debuted in 2013 as a 2014 model. The Bolt was well supported by the aftermarket, being customizable and taking the shape of a bobber, chopper, rat, and scrambler.

In 2013, at the Tokyo Motor Show, among other Yamaha motorcycles, the maker introduced a unique version of the Yamaha Bolt, which didn't hit the production line as its purpose was to show how customizable was Yamaha's iconic cruiser.

Its style was the target of most modifications that included a blue fuel tank and rear cowl, a lower handlebar, and a brown-finished seat. The bike's front suspension was modified, as well as the rear fender, which was replaced by a sporty tail.

The bike was fitted with standard features, such as a small round headlight up front, a single seat, a single exhaust system mounted on the right side, a black-finished engine with brushed cooling fins, and wire-spoke wheels with a fat tire on the rear.

Underneath its fuel tank, the 2014 Yamaha V-Star Bolt R Cafe had installed a 942cc four-stroke air-cooled V-twin engine managed by an electronic fuel injection system, delivering 59 Nm (44 lb-ft) torque at 3,000 rpm.

On the front, the bike packed a 41 mm telescopic fork, a 298 mm brake disc with a dual-piston caliper, and twin preload-adjustable shock absorbers with a 298 mm disc, providing optimum suspension performance and handling.
