YAMAHA MT-03 (2005-2006) Specs, Performance & Photos

The MT-03 was a single-cylinder series motorcycle manufactured by Yamaha from 2006 to 2014 as the first version of the MT-03 that featured an XT660R-derived engine, with the goal of creating a super-agile handling machine with high torque output.

The bike featured a forward-mass design with the concentration of the engine and chassis ahead of the bike's center point, complemented by a slim, forceful design and a compact exhaust mounted under the seat.

In the performance department, the 2006 Yamaha MT-03 packed a 660cc engine that delivered a low-mid range of torque due to several technical modifications, such as a massive 5.9 liters air cleaner box and an optimized fuel injection system that provided strong torque in the low-mid sped range.

The Yamaha MT-03 took its thrust from a 660cc four-stroke single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that delivered an output power of 48 hp with a peak at 6,000 rpm and 58 Nm (43 lb-ft) of torque available at 5,250 rpm.

For suspension, the bike packed a telescopic fork on the front and a swingarm with a spring-loaded shock absorber mounted on the right side of the engine, while the braking performance was handled by two 295 mm discs with a couple of hydraulic calipers on the front wheel and a 245 mm disc squeezed by a hydraulic caliper on the rear wheel.
