In 2013, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer presented a machine called Yamaha Bolt or Star Bolt in the United States market. It was a cruiser and cafe racer motorcycle released into production in 2014. Also, the maker launched C-Spec and R-Spec versions with ABS and upgraded rear shocks.

In 2016, the Japanese motorcycle maker released the Yamaha Bolt, the standard model between the R and C-Spec versions, without any shiny touches but with the same perks of modern technology.

In the visual department, the standard model offered the same standard features as the higher spec machines, including a racked-out front fork, a round headlight, a teardrop-style fuel tank, a single seat, a two-into-one exhaust system with a black-finished muffler, and 12-spoke lightweight wheels with a fat tire mounted on the rear.

The Yamaha bolt was very well supported by large and small aftermarket companies due to its highly customizable platform. The bike was quickly transformable into a bobber, chopper, rat, or scrambler style.

The bike's suspension comprised a telescopic fork on the front with 120 mm wheel travel and dual side-mounted shock absorbers on the rear with 71 mm wheel travel, offering optimum suspension performance and handling.

In 2023 (at the time of writing), the 2016 Yamaha Bolt was found for sale with a price ranging between $6,000 and $7,000.
