YAMAHA Bolt (2014-2015) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2013, the Japanese motorcycle maker presented the Yamaha Bolt, also known as the Yamaha Star Bolt. In 2014, Yamaha launched the first model, which featured a 942cc V-twin four-stroke air-cooled engine.

In 2015, Yamaha launched the Bolt, which was the same machine as the previous model, without any changes whatsoever. In most countries besides America, the bike was designated as the XV950.

Right from the factory floor, the 2015 Yamaha Bolt came equipped with a single seat, a low seating position, a black-finished engine and exhaust system, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a blacked-out steel frame, a side stand, and 12-spoke cast aluminum wheels.

The bike was well supported by the large aftermarket companies and the smaller ones due to its customizable platform, leading to many styles, including bobber, chopper, rat, scrambler, and many more.

The bike's suspension was handled by a 41 mm telescopic fork on the front with 120 mm wheel travel and plastic chip guards. In contrast, the rear suspension was operated by five-position spring preload-adjustable dual shock absorbers.

The bike rolled on 12-spoke aluminum wheels that featured a dual-piston caliper with a 298 mm disc on the front and a single-piston caliper with a 298 mm disc on the rear, offering solid and reliable stopping power.

In addition to the standard model, Yamaha also made available R-spec and C-spec versions that featured an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and an upgraded rear suspension.
