YAMAHA Bolt (2013-2014) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Yamaha Bolt, also known as the Star Bolt, was an American cruiser or cafe racer machine, presented in 2013 and released in 2014. The bike was powered by a 942 cc air-cooled four-stroke V-twin engine.

In addition, Yamaha made available an R-spec model featuring reservoir shock absorbers on the rear and a C-spec released in July 2014, replaced by the XV950SCR (Scarmbler) in 2017.

The Yamaha Bolt was a very well-supported machine by the aftermarket after it proved to be built on a very customizable platform, which led to all kinds of styles, such as bobber, chopper, rat, scrambler, and all others.

In most countries besides the United States, the bike was called the Yamaha XV950. It was available in the standard version or two other higher R-spec and C-spec versions, fitted with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and upgraded rear shocks.

The bike came equipped from the factory with a single seat and a low seating position, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a blacked-out engine and exhaust system, bullet-shaped turn signals, a round headlight, and 12-spoke lightweight wheels.

For suspension, the bike packed a 41 mm telescopic fork with plastic chip guards and 120 mm wheel travel on the front and five-position spring preload-adjustable shock absorbers on the rear, offering a smooth and comfortable riding experience.

As for braking power, the 2014 Yamaha Bolt packed a twin-piston caliper with a 298 mm floating disc on the front and a single-piston caliper with a 298 mm disc on the rear, providing strong stopping power.
