In 2016, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Ducati Multistrada 1200S, a half-naked machine part of the Multistrada family that debuted in 2003. The range comprised several motorcycles with similar appearances but different engine displacements.

The 2016 Ducati 1200S was available in two color schemes, Ducati Red with black wheels, which was also available on the 1200S D Air version, and Iceberg White with black wheels, which was available only on the 1200S model.

Also, the bike packed the latest technology, with a Ducati Testastretta DVT engine, a Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), a Bosch-Brembo ABS cornering braking system, and several more electronic enhancements.

It came equipped with electronic cruise control, Ducati Multimedia System (DMS), a ride-by-wire system with four riding modes, Sport, Touring, Urban, and Enduro, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), and Ducati Traction Control (DTC).

The 2016 1200S model was also available with several personalization packs, such as a touring pack with heated grips, panniers, and a center stand. A sports pack with a road-legal Termignoni exhaust system and a carbon fiber mudguard.

The urban pack comprised a top case, a lockable tank bag, and a USB hub, while the Enduro pack featured supplementary lights, engine protection bars, a radiator guard, an Oi sump guard, a more significant kickstand base, and off-road footpegs.

As for power, the 2016 Ducati Multistrada 1200S took its muscles from a 1,198cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine managed by a fuel injection system, boasting 160 hp with a peak at 9,50 rpm and 136 Nm (100 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm.
