DUCATI Hyperstrada 939 (2015-2016) Specs, Performance & Photos

When Ducati first unveiled the Hypermotard in 2005, it represented the birth of a new segment that filled the gap between sportbikes and supermotards. The unveiling of the Hypermotard was done through a mini-site which asked visitors to complete an online survey about their opinions about the bike. The two-wheeler was still in concept stage, and production was not guaranteed. In March 2006, Ducati CEO Federico Minoli posted on his blog and confirmed that Hypermotard would enter production.

The 2016 Ducati Hyperstrada 939, an evolution of the Hypermotard, takes its strength from the 937cc new Testastretta Desmodromic liquid-cooled engine that works in tandem with a six-speed manual gearbox. The engine develops a power of 113 hp at 9,000 rpm and 98 (72 lb-ft) of torque at 7,500 rpm.

The rigidity is mainly given by the tubular steel trellis frame, which wears a 43mm upside-down telescopic fork on the front and a Sachs adjustable monoshock with progressive linkage on the rear.

In the braking department, the model has two 320 mm discs four-piston calipers, Brembo monobloc on the front, and a 245mm disc, two-piston caliper on the rear. As a standard option, the bike comes with ABS.

The 2016 Hyperstrada 939 has a dry weight of 187 kg (412 lbs).
