The 2008 MY Cagiva Mito SP 525 introduces a new technology, the Electronic Carburetion System (ECS), which brings two-stroke engines in the 21st century in terms of fuel consumption and lets its engine be categorized in the Euro 3 range. It also boasts a maximum power output of 25 horsepower and 23 Nm of torque from its liquid-cooled, two-stroke, 125cc, single cylinder powerhouse that has been mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

This new version of the Mito has had its bodywork redesigned, to make for a more aggressive and modern machine, sure to fit the taste of the young and adventurous among riders. Standard fittings include dual headlights, a full-fairing with a small windscreen, a two-piece, dual seat, die-cast aluminium wheels, an analogue instrument cluster, a 40mm Marzocchi upside-down fork coupled to an adjustable mono-shock in the rear and a disc braking system both in the front and in the rear.
