BENELLI Tre-K 899 (2012-2013) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2013, the Italian motorcycle maker released the Benelli Tre-K 899, a more relaxed alternative to the naked TNT range. It was a powerful yet agile baked motorcycle that also fit the tastes of those riders looking to spend as much time as possible in the saddle.

In the visual department, the motorcycle packed standard fittings, like a front cowl with a medium-sized windscreen, a one-piece dual seat with passenger and rider grab rails, optional panniers, a three-into-one exhaust system with a muffler under the seat, and five-spoke aluminum wheels.

Power-wise, the 2013 Benelli Tre-K 899 had its soul brought to life by an 899cc four-stroke three-cylinder liquid-cooled engine mounted underneath the fuel tank. Fed by a fuel injection system, the engine boasted 105 hp with a peak at 10,000 rpm and 75 Nm (55 lb-ft) torque at 5,000 rpm.

A six-speed transmission controlled by a wet multi-plate clutch sent the power generated by the engine to the rear end via a final chain drive, pushing the motorcycle to a maximum speed of 255 kph (140 mph).

As for suspension, the bike's aluminum and steel frame was fitted with a 50 mm Marzocchi telescopic fork on the front, providing 150 mm travel, and an adjustable Sachs shock absorber on the rear with 144 mm of travel.

Braking-wise, the motorcycle's wheels were fitted with two 320 mm brake discs mounted on the front wheel and a 240 mm brake disc bolted to the rear wheel. The front discs were clamped to four-piston calipers and the rear to a dual-piston caliper.
