BENELLI TNT 899S (2008-2009) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2008, the Italian motorcycle maker released the Benelli TNT 899S, a sporty road motorcycle that was mainly addressed to those riders searching for a zero-compromise bike when it came to performance.

The bike's TNT designation was an acronym for "Tornado Naked Tre." Tornado referred to its engine and frame derived from its faired sister, Naked came from the lack of fairings, and Tre denoted its three-cylinder engine. In addition, it packed the same frame as the Tornado Tre model but a different swingarm.

The Benelli TNT was derived from the Tornado Tre 900 super sports motorcycle, which was presented in 2004 and continued production until 2016. It was made In different versions with different displacements.

Aesthetically, the 2008 TNT 899S model had standard fittings, like a fork-mounted headlight, side panels with integrated turn signals, a two-piece dual seat with passenger grab rails, a three-into-one exhaust system with a muffler mounted under the seat, and five-spoke alloy wheels.

As for power, the 2008 Benelli TNT 899S had its heartbeat set by an 899cc four-stroke liquid-cooled three-cylinder engine fed by a fuel injection system, boasting 120 hp with a peak force at 9,500 rpm and 88 Nm (65 lb-ft) torque at 8,000 rpm.

It was kept on the safe side by two 320 mm brake discs mounted on the front coupled to four-piston calipers and a 240 mm brake disc bolted on the rear wheel tied to a dual-piston caliper.
