BENELLI 354 Sport II (1983-1984) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 1983, the Italian motorcycle maker released the Benelli 354 Sport II, a small displacement, naked, two-wheeler that debuted in 1980. It continued production for six years until 1985, when it was dropped.

The 1983 machine was delivered in the same form and shape as previous models, retaining the same performance, visual, and technical characteristics without any significant changes whatsoever.

In the visual department, the Benelli 354 Sport II had standard features, such as a round headlight integrated into a small cowl, a small windscreen, a one-piece dual seat, side-mounted shocks, a four-into-two exhaust system with a chromed silencer on each side, and 12-spoke aluminum alloy wheels.

The bike was made around a tubular steel frame with a hydraulic telescopic fork handling the front-end suspension and a dual-sided swingarm with side-mounted shocks handling the rear-end suspension.

As for the braking performance, the motorcycle's 18-inch 12-spoke wheels were fitted with two brake rotors on the front clamped to hydraulic calipers and a single brake disc tied to a hydraulic caliper.

The 1983 Benelli 354 Sport II had its soul brought to life by a 345cc four-stroke four-cylinder air-cooled engine mounted at its core, delivering a power output of 38 hp with a peak force at 10,200 rpm.

The power generated by the engine was converted into speed by a five-speed manual gearbox controlled by a wet multi-plate clutch and sent to the rear end via a final chain drive, pushing the bike to a top speed of 160 kph (99 mph).
