The Benelli 304 was a middle-class, lightweight, touring-oriented motorcycle produced by Benelli in 1984. The bike continued production for only five years until it was dropped from production in 1988.

In 1987, the Italian bike maker released the Benelli 304, a motorcycle in its fourth consecutive production year. The bike was designed for those riders looking to spend a long amount of time behind the bars.

In addition, the 1987 machine came with the same package as previous ones, delivering the same performance, visual, and technical characteristics without any significant modifications whatsoever.

The bike visual department remained unchanged, featuring the same standard features, such as a round headlight, a color-matched front fender, a four-into-two exhaust system with a silencer mounted on each side, a one-piece, two-up seat, a center stand, and 12-spoke aluminum alloy wheels.

For suspension, the motorcycle packed a 30 mm hydraulic telescopic fork on the front and a dual-sided swingarm with two side-mounted shocks on the rear, providing optimum suspension performance and handling capabilities.

As for the braking performance, the bike's wheels packed a single 260 mm brake rotor with a hydraulic caliper controlling the front and a 158 mm drum unit handling the rear.

The 1987 Benelli 304 took its muscles from a 231 four-stroke four-cylinder air-cooled engine mounted at its core, delivering an output power of 28 hp at 10,500 rpm and 19 Nm (14 lb-ft) torque at 9,000 rpm.
