This is only the second time that we've caught a 2015 Mercedes-Benz CLS (X218) Shooting Brake pre-production prototype in the open, with its four-door brother being seeing quite abit more often.
Despite being market launched almost two years after the CLS four-door coupe, the Shooting Brake will get its mid-cycle facelift at the same time as its slimmer brother, since both models share a common front fascia and otherwise the lineup would have gotten a bit odd.
Caught here exiting the underground parking lot of a Spanish hotel, this CLS Shooting Brake is actually telling us that the current European Mercedes-Benz playground for testing upcoming models is currently in the Catalonian region of Spain.
As it can be seen from the adjacent photos, the exterior differences compared with the current model will reside in a new shape for the front and rear bumpers, some minor nip and tucks for the headlights and Mark Fetherston's “star grille” making its way up from the little A-Class and CLA.
