The Spanish Grand Prix that took place over the weekend saw the Williams F1 team celebrate its first race win on weight years, but victory was bittersweet, as an explosion sparked at the team’s garage just after the race.
The explosion is believed to have been cause by a KERS unit malfunction - the electrical storage unit is located below the petrol tank and a short-circuit is believed to have caused the explosion.
The flames spread rapidly, with the whole garage being affected by the fire. Various Tweets show that there were nine people affected, fortunately, none of them suffering severe injuries, with most of the problems being related to small burns and smoke inhalation.
The BBC crew was just passing by the area when the fire expanded, so they caught everything on camera - you can watch the fire in the adjacent video.
