Toyota's UK arm introduced two new versions of the Yaris Hybrid, namely the Active and the Sport.
This change means that the Yaris Hybrid Active is now the entry-level in the lineup, with the lowest on-the-road price that buys you a hybrid from Toyota: £14,995 (roughly $23,400 at current exchange rates).
For this kind of money, Toyota Yaris Hybrid Active offers dual-zone climate control, trip computer, power front windows and split-folding rear seats.
For fancier desires, the Yaris Hybrid Sport provides a sharper dash with rear privacy glass, 16-inch alloy wheels, rear spoiler and a rear pillar treatment that, according to Toyota, creates a floating roof effect.
The offer also consists of climate control, power windows all round and the Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system with touchscreen control and rear view camera.
As as an option, Toyota is can fit the Yaris Hybrid Sport with a Skyview panoramic roof, but that will cost you an extra £550 ($857) on top of the £16,695 (around $26,000 at current exchange rates) starting sticker set by Toyota for the Yaris Hybrid Sport.
In terms of powertrain, the setup remains unchanged, as both models use the same 1.5-liter VVT-i gasoline engine teamed up with an electric motor.
Overall power output reached 100 horsepower and is managed by a CVT gearbox, making the two earth-savers go from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 11.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 108 mph (166 km/h), with a fuel consumption of only 3.3 l/100 km (71.2 mpg US) for the Active version and 3.6 l/100 km (65.3 mpg US) for the Sport trim.
