We've had our fair share of Tesla Model X photos and video submitted by drivers who happened to be on the same highway as Tesla's upcoming crossover, but a design detail has somehow slipped out attention.
The pictures in question here were taken on July 21 by Tesla Motors Club Forum user Sluggo, who argues what we see is in fact a test mule used by the factory guys to accumulate miles prior to the Model X's official launch.

Leaving that aside, please have a look at the picture where the Model X presents itself without the covers and tell us if you can spot a major peculiarity. Yes? No?

We'll break it to you. Have a look again, this time focusing on the windshield's line. See how far it goes into the car's roof? From where we're standing, this looks like a feature that will go into production.

Also, such a design gimmick implies the Model X will show increased attention on the cabin's ambient and such a long windshield - like the forehead of a philosopher - will contribute to a better lighting inside as well as to a more airy ambient.

This prototype seems to be sensor-free, unlike the one spotted recently in San Jose, which could mean the EV is rapidly approaching its launch date.

In other news, you can earn a free Tesla Model X through Tesla's new incentive program based on referrals, if you are the first customer to recommend ten friends who will buy a Model S in one of Tesla's three areas of influence: North America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe.
