Now that a high-performance version of the 2015 Mustang (read Shelby GT500 replacement) has been confirmed by a dealer promo site and the company’s body codes chart, all we need to do is see the vehicle and find out what engine it will get under the hood.
To do that, we’ll probably have to wait until April, when celebrations for the Mustang’s 50th anniversary will commence and when the new GT350 is rumored to make its public debut at the New York Auto Show. Until then, we can have a look at the less camouflaged version of the sportscar our skilled spy photographers caught testing earlier this week.
Although the front end and the hood are still covered, the photos reveal a hood-mounted air scoop, which means that the vehicle will get a forced-induction engine under the hood. The GT350 is also fitted with quad exhaust and, according to our spies, with an “air-permeable mesh panel to allow for the functional vent aft of the front wheel.”
