Citroen will launch a new C4 at the end of 2010 (to be sold as model year 2011) and here are the first spyshots meant to give us a slight glimpse into how the car will actually look like. Unfortunately, only a little can be seen in the photos because the French manufacturer covered the testing prototype with a black camouflage hiding most parts of the car.
Even if we don't know for sure which are the parts to come with a new look, Citroen's officials earlier this year revealed that the new C4 will be offered with more fuel efficient engines, especially tweaked to return improved figures. Three-cylinder units are very possible, the company’s product boss Vincent Besson has told media recently, with a petrol-electric hybrid version expected to be launched in the next years.
Overall, the C4 will come with a lighter body, mostly thanks to the use of alternative materials. Such a reduced weight will contribute to the final efficiency figures but also to the engine performance stats which are yet to be disclosed for the time being.
A thing worth mentioning is that the hybrid or the electric flavor of the C4 (if there will be one), will only be available for high-end versions of the car.
Another illustration released earlier this year hinted that the C4 will bring several modifications compared to the current C4, included a redesigned front fascia, with new headlights, reshaped grille and new front bumper, and new rear back.
More details are expected to be available soon as the C4 is currently undergoing heavy testing.
