Production Alfa Romeo 8C-Based Disco Volante Shows Up in Geneva [Photo Gallery]
This Alfa Romeo 8C-based sportscar has been making our gaskets leak since the Italian coachbuilder introduced the concept car during last year's Geneva Motor Show and it's finally here, almost ready to see a production line.
But building the Disco Volante won't be an easy task. Touring Superleggera says each one will take about 4,000 hours - or six months - to be completed, and it looks like we won't be able find out how much it costs, since pricing is available on application only.
Thanks to the Alfa 8C's underpinnings, including the 4.7-liter V8 engine, the Disco Volante is able to reach a top speed of 181 mph (291 km/h) and accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in only 4.2 second.
While the mechanics remained basically unchanged, the interior can be fully customized and is bound to be more luxurious with high-quality leather and Alcantara.
