Optional Brembo Pack for 2011 Mustang GT is a Popular Option

It looks like the age of the muscle car that was afraid of braking and cornering is gone. And we can only be happy. The automotive producers were able to offer a muscle cat that also knew a thing or two about cornering in the past, but probably they didn’t bothered too much because the market was pleased with what it received.

But, as we said things have changed. According to automobilemag, the demand for the 2011 Mustang GT optional Brembo handling and braking package is greater than Ford expected, It seems that the package has surpassed the previous Track Pack (which was available last year) sales by a lot.

However, this was a step that the Mustang GT had to to, as its rivals were already in a different braking league. Both the Chevy Camaro SS and the Dodge Challenger SRT8 come with Brembo brakes included in the standard equipment list.

The reason why the 2011 Mustang GT needs the aforementioned driving hardware is its 5.0 liter V8 engine that pumps out 412 hp at 6,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 390 lb-ft (529 Nm) at 4,250 rpm. The unit uses four valves per cylinder and can rev up to 7,000 rpm, so it kind of invites you to put the pedal through the metal.

The Brembo Package has a price of $1,695. Here’s what your ‘Stang gets for the money:
  • Front 14-inch Brembo vented discs with Brembo four-piston calipers
  • Rear 11.8-inch vented discs with four-piston calipers
  • Unique 19-inch wheels
  • Summer sport tires
  • Tweaked suspension
  • Modified electronic stability control and steering tweaks
