For the 2012 Australian Motor Show that’s headed to Sydney this month, Lexus took one of the best liked concept cars it ever made and made it different.
Instead of the sporty red the LF-LC used to come in, it’s now been repainted in blue. This color supposedly resembles that of the naturally occurring opal from the Australian outback and shows just how involved the Japanese automaker is with this market.
The LF-LC was initially designed by the Calty team in California as a study to show Lexus’ future design direction. However, the response was overwhelming and they are likely actually going to put it into production.
As a concept, the LF-LC is a hybrid all-wheel drive car with about 500 horsepower, enough to take on the BMW 6-Series and Mercedes SL.
“LF-LC is part concept, part reality: the concept hints at what’s to come from Lexus, while the reality has us actively studying how we can engineer and build a vehicle like this in the future," said Toyota Australia's Senior Divisional Manager Tony Cramb.
