Oakley Design Ferrari 458 Italia Dyno Test

Back in June, Oakley Design released a modification fit for the Ferrari 458 Italia, playing with the vehicle's performance and appearance. We placed their proposal on our "like" wall and thus we are happy to show you a video of a dyno test of their creation.

The 458 Italia's 4.5 liter V8 powerplant, which delivers 570 hp in factory stock form, has managed to record 644 hp on a DCTuner 3000 Dynocom dyno, with a variance of 2.6 hp over three runs.

The British aftermarket specialist ChippedUK explains that the power premium was not achieved through the ECU remap, as it happens in most cases, but has come mainly thanks to Oakley's engine modifications.

Here's Chipped UK's explanation: "The gain was NOT through software "as in a normal remap" you have to remember, when you add things like intake systems and exhausts the car will then run bad and will perform worse than it would if setup properly. The majority of the power gains are directly from the work done by Oakley, the remap just makes them work to the best,"

And speaking of engine goodies, we have to remind you that the list of modifications includes a 2 liter carbon airbox, larger intake pipes, a titanium exhaust system (this is 35 kg lighter than the one it replaces), as well as a Viezu ECU remap.

Oakley also announced that it is working to fit a new modification to the car, telling us that the 458 Italia will soon be fitted with an Intrax 4 way adjustable suspension that offers a front lifting function.
