Nissan Leaf US Sales Rise 60% in October
Last month marked an increase of 60%, over what they managed to sell in September, reaching a total number of 1,579 units sold by the end of the month. However, they are still some 15,000 units off their projected target for the fiscal year, and only five months to do so - not very likely to happen, we say.
Domestic US production of the Leaf is also set to start at the Smyrna plant, in Tennessee, so perhaps they will be able to bring prices down further, thus boosting sales even more. Also, Nissan will be launching a ‘stripped-out’ version of the Leaf, which will feature all of the mechanical and technical stuff, yet will lose the sat-nav system, inside LCD display, and other comfort features, which customers were paying extra for, and perhaps didn’t really want.
