Mercedes E-Klasse Scale Model Released

If the Mercedes SLS AMG scale model we presented two days ago is too performance-oriented for your taste you can choose the new Mercedes E-Klasse cabriolet scale model, which will be available for order starting March 27.

The product, available in three sizes, will be released at the same time with the real E-Klasse Cabriolet, so if you were actually planing to buy the real car, now you’ll have to raise some extra cash. You needn't worry however, as the scale models are pretty affordable: the 1:87 model, produced by Busch in Viernheim, which is available in gloss Black, Iridium Silver and Calcium White can be yours for 15,90 euro ($21.3). The next model in the line-up is the 1:43 one that comes to the world via Schuco’s Furth factory and has a MSRP of 28 euro ($37.5). You can have yours in Stannite Grey, Fire Opal or Indigolite Blue.

The top of the range model, the 1:18 one, is manufactured by Norev and features mobile doors, hood and trunk while its interior and luggage compartment feature special carpets. You can order it in Obsidian Black, Fire Opal or Iridium Silver. The king of the scale model hill will set you back 59,90 euro ($80.3).

To enable the original and the miniature to grace the showroom at the same time, Mercedes-Benz cooperates closely with selected dependable suppliers from the model-car industry. Despite recourse to state-of-the-art computer design technology, it still takes around a year to develop a high-quality miniature. This means that when the model-car specialists began their work, the original E-Class Cabriolet was still strictly confidential. The selected model car suppliers are provided with design data in advance, to enable the miniatures to be produced according to the same quality standards which apply to the full-scale vehicle,” stated the press release, describing the complex design process of the scale models.
