Mercedes SLS AMG Scale Model Released

Yesterday, we reported that a series of leaked images revealed the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 in all its glory.

The race car features a delicious aerodynamic kit consisting of a front bumper addition, two front air fins, a new hood featuring a large air intake, a bespoke rear bumper that houses an air diffuser and a massive rear spoiler. The vehicle uses a set of new multi-spoke racing rims. The GT3 version of the AMG only has one inconvenient: (you guessed it)  the price. This has not been announced yet, but is expected to range anywhere between $300,000 and $500,000.

If this is a bit steep for you, you can always choose the road version of the car. The discount will be dramatic... but probably won’t help you very much. But, don’t worry, there’s still hope, as Mercedes announced earlier today that it is offering a SLS AMG scale model, as part of its branded collection.

The Mercedes SLS AMG scale model range includes three scales : 1:18, 1:43 and 1:87. The line-up’s price range starts at 15.79 euro (for the smallest model) and reaches 59.49 euro (for the 1:18 version). You can choose from nine different versions, wearing the Minichamps, Schuco and Herpa badges, that can be dressed in multiple colors. This means that if you buy one, you might not end up in the unpleasant situation of pulling up to a traffic light next to a toy just like yours. In addition to that, the modest price means that you can afford buying not only the the street version, but also the potential FIA GT one (we hope that this will be spawned as a scale model too).
