With the MSO HS, McLaren has helped the driving part of humanity achieve one of its oldest dreams, namely to have a racecar on the streets.
Sure, the 688 HS, to use the speed animal's other name, is still based on a road car, but Woking has blurred the line between road and race machines lately and you don't necessarily have to go for a street-legal P1 GTR or a P1 LM to sample that.

We've already shown you what was probably the first MSO HS to set wheel on public roads earlier this fall and, since more cars have now reached their owners, we're back on this McLaren Special Operations topic.

The British specialist is only gifting the world with 25 units of the velocity weapon, and two of them are present in the video at the bottom of the page, with the footage having been captured in London.

Among others, we can use this clip to illustrate the extremes of the McLaren MSO HS ownership discreetness scale. Some owners are more extroverted than others and while one of the machines in the video uses a restrained color theme, the other is nothing short of a rolling advert. No really, it is.

For one thing, any pedestrian or bicyclist going past the thing will find out the owner's name, since this is written on the door mirror arm. We've seen such on approach on tons of occasions, but people usually go for the less show off approach that only includes their initials (remember Manny Khoshbin's MK Edition McLaren P1?).

Then there's the clear carbon fuel filler cap, which lets everybody know this is one of the world's only 25 MSO HS models.

You shouldn't be all that surprised about the details on this British speed tool. After all, they're no stranger than the fact that Bentley now has an official shade of Pink.
