Lamborghini is very pleased with the Gallardo’s achievements, calling the vehicle its “most successful model”. However, this also means that the Gallardo can be found in vast numbers (for a supercar, that is), which doesn’t quite help its exclusivity factor. Lamborghini knows this and has been releasing one Gallardo special edition after another. Well, guess what? Here’s a new one!
The special edition, which is dubbed Tricolore, marks the fact that Italy is celebrating 150 years since its unification. The Raging Bull’s patriot wears an Italian flag, which runs the entire length of the vehicle. To be more specific, a three-colored stripe can be found on the hood, driver’s seat and roof.
The Gallardo Tricolore seems to bring a reminder of the Italian history in every moment of its existence. This means that every moment is a special one and thus, the vehicle has been dressed for the (perpetual) occasion: it comes dressed in white, with carbon fiber exterior mirrors.
“To celebrate the 150 years of Italian unity we felt that it was appropriate to propose a tri-color livery for our most successful model, the Lamborghini Gallardo. With the Lamborghini Gallardo Tricolore we give a further impulse to the development of the 'Made in Italy' label in the world.” Stephan Winkelmann, the company’s CEO, said.
Lamborghini hasn’t given us the official details of the model, so we don’t know if the tech side has something new to offer. To find out, we’ll have to wait until March 16, as this is when the vehicle is scheduled to be unveiled (at an exhibition that will be held in Turin).
