The Lamborghini Cabrera is getting closer and closer to putting the Gallardo to sleep. However, before it can take over the aging Gallardo’s place in the... ahem... “junior” supercar league, the Cabrera needs to finish its testing. We can’t just sit around and wait for the Italian, so we figured we may hust bring you some renderings of the supercar.
The clues available so far point to the fact that the Cabrera will heavily borrow the Aventador’s styling language, obviously in a more compact package. We’re giving you a few renderings and, to stay in line with the latest trends, these come in matte colors.
You can also notice the Lamborghini-characteristic Y shape for the headlights, which we’ve already met on the Cabrera prototype. As for the wheels used here, these feature a pretty deep concave profile.
It will be interesting to see the Lamborghini Cabrera go head to head with the Ferrari 458 and the McLaren MP4-12C. The Lambo will probably top its Italian rival in terms of figures, but it won’t be easy to battle the McLaren in terms of figures.
Regardless of this, the Cabrera will bear Lambo’s typical madness, the thing that makes the Gallardo offer motorcycle-like sensations when you’re high in the rev range, in second gear.
We’re also curious what Lamborghini plans to do with its carbon fiber development. So far, the McLaren MP4-12C is the only car in this segment to offer such goodies. The Cabrera could either do the same or stick with an aluminum construction to prevent its price from exploding.
