Lamborghini means business with the Aventador. Literally - the carmaker yesterday celebrated the production of the 1,000th Aventador. The milestone vehicle was finished in Argos Orange (damn, we wanted it to be Verde Itacha!) and Lamborghini President and CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, offered the keys to the owner, Hans Scheidecker. The man is a Bavarian architect who adores Raging Bulls and he must also be a very good driver, since the Diablo he owns hasn’t killed him.
Now, about that business part... Lambo’s Sant’ Agata Bolognese plant has stepped up its game for the Aventador, as the car’s predecessor, the Murcielago, needed two years and five months to reach the same 1,000 units production milestone. If you’re the kind that likes numbers, we have to tell you that the factory’s production output stood ar 3 cars per day back in Q3 2011, while the current level is 4.5 [insert unfinished car jokes here].
Of course, production without sales would be like washing your car with engine oil, but the Aventador has managed to convince so many customers that the order books are filled for the following 18 months. And if you think that this is impressive, wait ‘till Lambo releases the successor for the Gallardo, it’s best-selling model so far (way over 12,000 units were sold), which should come pretty soon.
PS: if you have any issues with your Aventador, you may use the adjacent image to identify the man, or woman, that has taken care of that part of your car.
