The Jaguar XKR-S has gotten mixed reviews ever since it was launched last year. It might be bedroom poster worthy, with its Smurf blue paintjob and aggressive bodywork, but the XK’s chassis was never really designed to go really fast, and while adding the S badge has made the car a little more impressive on the track, it has limited appeal on the road. But Jaguar probably knew they were making an extreme car for the fans, since only 100 roll out every year.
But that might not be the final chapter, as according to Car and Driver, Jaguar is thinking about making a track-fucused version. What, the XKR-S isn’t track focused enough?
We’re thinking that the numerous comparisons to the XJ220 might have given them ideas. You see, the mid-engines supercar from years past got a racing cousin with a body made from carbon fiber, and they might be thinking of doing the same with this one. Only a handful of these were produced, and since the XKR-S is already a rare best, expect the same sort of single digit or low double digit quota.
