Henrik Fisker Tells You to Follow Your Dreams! [Video]
text size: A- A+
His message is about pursuing one’s dreams, regardless of the fact that they may be automotive-related or not - in his case, they were. He tells the story of how he used to sketch cars at the back of his notebooks when he was in school, and pretty much all throughout the educational system, until he started doing it professionally at the European branch of the Art Center College of Design Pasadena, after applying for a job at Volvo as a car designer, and being rejected due to the lack of a relevant diploma.
However, after getting his degree, and working for BMW (where he designed the Z8), then Aston Martin, he realized that large corporations are rather stiff entities and adapt slowly to new trends and ideas, so he began conjuring up thoughts of having his own automotive company, to make the cars he wanted to see on the road, and so, after listening to everybody tell him it couldn’t be done, he did it - and now Ashton Kutcher and Justin Bieber are driving one of his Fisker Karmas, so we can safely assume he made it!
The essence of his speech is for anyone who has a dream to follow it and when an opportunity presents itself, one should grab it and then adapt it and change it until it finally fits the mental image which had been bouncing around one’s head for a while, and not settle for a compromise because that will never lead to one’s complete fulfillment. He also draws what looks like a front-engined coupe-type car right at the end. Could this be the third model in their range, after the Karma and Atlantic - a sleek two-door coupe?
