Ford Motor Co. has unveiled a special anniversary logo to commemorate the Mustang's 50th anniversary.
According to a Detroit Free Press report, this logo will be used to sell commemorative products, such as shirts, jackets, watches and even pinball machines, through a total of 50 companies (obviously that number is no coincidence).

The specific merchandise items will be revealed over the coming weeks. The one year-long anniversary party will kick off at the 2013 New York International Auto Show which is set to debut later this week. There's no word yet whether Ford will celebrate the Mustang's half a century with a new model next year, but we think it's more than likely for than to happen.

The legendary Ford Mustang was introduced on April 17, 1964 and has since become one of America's most popular pony/muscle car. The all-new sixth-generation Mustang will be launched in 2014.
