As it was somewhat expected, Mercedes-Benz couldn't keep the lid on the upcoming S-Class Coupe (C217) and spilled the beans at the annual Daimler AG press conference, earlier today.
For some reason, when speaking about Mercedes-Benz models that are to be launched in 2014, the Germans showed the audience a single image of the coupe version of the S-Class in full production trim, giving the journalists present the obvious opportunity to photograph it.
The first ones to snap a photo were the folks from MB Passion, who promptly put it on their always enjoyable-blog.
As you can see and as expected, the production version looks quasi-identical to the Mercedes-Benz Concept S-Class Coupe, shown at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The new S-Class Coupe (C217) will only use twin-turbocharged V8 and V12 engines, taken straight out of its sedan brother, while a slightly lower weight might give it better acceleration figures. Expect the official unveil of the car to happen closer to the Geneva Motor Show next month.
