Just when we though we'd seen the smallest crossovers ever in the B-segment, the Italians come up with a way to make them even smaller. Fiat already had the Panda 4x4, a jacked up version of their smallest 5-door, but this is even cooler. The munchkin before us is called the Panda Cross, and will be unveiled next month during the Geneva Motor Show.
Easily distinguishable for a regular Panda, the Cross model has beefy gray plastic protecting is vulnerable underbelly. Like many models of this type, it's been made to look more aggressive using stronger surrounds for the lighting systems, roof rails, dark painted 15-inch alloys and roof rails.

Power comes from a choice of either 0.9-liter turbo two-cylinder with 90 hp or 1.3-liter MultiJet with 80 hp. The only gearbox is a six-speed manual with a stronger first gear to cope with the rough stuff. Just like the Panda 4x4, the torque-on-demand system sends power to the rear axle only when it senses slip at the front. Fiat also fitted the car with Hill Descent Control and a MacPherson front suspension system.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
