According to autocar.co.uk, the main differences between the concept and the production model are the tailpipes - the production flavor features a twin outlet - and the aerial.
There will be two diesels and three gasoline engines across the range, each of them obviously tweaked for the best possible mileage. The diesels are represented by 1.6-liter HDi units developing either 90 bhp or 110 bhp, with emissions going as low as 99 g/km of CO2. As for the gasoline configurations, they generate 95 bhp, 120 bhp and 150 bhp, the aforementioned source noted. There are two transmission systems available, five or six-speed manual.
As for the exterior, the car is offered with four different paintings for the roof, black, white, blue and red, as well as a couple of graphics offered as optional features. The exterior mirrors can be either chromed or painted in the same color as the body. The interior sports a new dashboard insert offered in six different finishes.
Other specifications include a 285-liter trunk, more spacious compared to MINI and Fiat 500, the main two rivals for Citroen's new model. It is 3.95m long and 1.71m wide.
The DS3 will go on sale in March and will be soon accompanied by DS4 - projected for 2011 - and DS5 - scheduled to be released at a later date.
