The Germans are known for their excellent build quality, but now and then they make a mistake, like that ongoing problem of the DSG gearboxes.
It seems the new VW Golf is going to suffer its first major recall soon, as a German publication discovered a leak in their long-term test car, a 5-door 1.4 TSI model. Auto Bild noticed water on the front passenger compartment floor of their car.
This water is condensed by the air conditioning system but because of badly installed hoses creates an embarrassing puddle.
This is an old technical fault that most people have witnessed and is easily fixed. Auto Bild suggests it could affect by 300,000 Golfs, Audi A3 and SEAT Leons. But Volkswagen has proven unwilling to do major recalls, preferring the "we'll fix it when it's broken" approach.
