Earlier today, we showed you one of the first examples of the 2017 Porsche 911 R spotted out in the wild. We're back on the 500 hp, manual gearbox topic to bring you a 911 R that ditched its factory appearance.
Despite Zuffenhausen building just 991 examples of the rear-engined machine, certain owners simply can't stick to the standard appearance of the supercar, if we can call the stripe-friendly aura of the 911 R that.
Case in point with the car you can see above. The vehicle recently entered the Print Tech Premium Wrapping shop in Germany, where it's getting a second skin transformation.
As you can see in the second image below, this Neunelfer came dressed in White, while wearing Green stripes, a setup we've also seen with a Porsche-owned car. However, the pure driving instrument is now receiving a Matte Aluminum wrap, which should bring us the eye-catching combination that defines many 911s, namely an appearance that manages to stand out while keeping an understated touch.
This is also a good occasion to treat you with a bit of a 911 R strip-tease, with multiple elements of the car, such as the front apron and the headlights, being removed for the color-changing process. Let's hope this is the only way of getting to see underneath a 911 R's skin.
When it comes to other 911 R color schemes, the personal car of Porsche GT division boss Andreas Preuninger should quench your color thirst.
As for the big (spotting-related) picture, since 2017 Porsche 911 R customer deliveries kicked off last month, we can't wait to bring you the first example that has traveled outside its home country.

Now, about that windscreen decal
With Zuffenhausen only offering the 911 R to proven aficionados, the decal visible at the top of the windshield shouldn't come as a surprise. We're dealing with the Van Berghe GmbH racing team, a group of people who are no Porsche-related motorsport activities. As for the big (spotting-related) picture, since 2017 Porsche 911 R customer deliveries kicked off last month, we can't wait to bring you the first example that has traveled outside its home country.
