Initially presumed to be called the MLC, this new Mercedes model is now rumored to be called the ML Coupe or M-Class Coupe. This move would make a lot of sense, since the Germans have recently replaced the CL-Class coupe with a new car called the S-Class Coupe.
Regardless of what we call it, the SUV-coupe will have a simple job: take on the BMW X6, a new generation of which has just been revealed. There will also be an AMG version, probably powered by the same 5.5-liter twin-turbo as the ML 63.

This is just one of many new SUVs coming from Mercedes in the next couple of years. Based on the same platform as the new C-Class sedan, the GLK compact SUV will arrive next year and might also have a coupe version. A facelift for the X5-rivaling ML-Class is also in the pipeline.
