German sportscar manufacturer Porsche has revealed the 911 GT America, a race car exclusively developed for next year’s United Sports Car Racing (USCR) series GT Daytona Class.
Based on the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, the GT America is motivated by the company’s 4.0-liter flat-six mill that delivers 470 horsepower when paired to its six-speed sequential gearbox with electronic throttle and pneumatic paddle shifters.
The features that set it apart from the 911 GT3 Cup racer include a USCR-spec rear wing, new front spoiler, endurance-purpose developed braking system, quick-release couplings for brake calipers, and a fast-fill oil refueling system.
Deliveries of the 2014 Porsche 911 GT America, which is priced at $269,000, will commence in October.
It's way to early to assess the impact the 911 GT America will have in next year's GT Daytona Class, but this racer proves once again that Porsche remains dedicated to its motorsport program.
