Animal Bridges Let Wildlife Across Highways Safely

Why did the endangered chicken cross the road? To get to the other side, but can it do that safely when there are cars traveling at speed, ready to turn anything into roadkill. Obviously, there’s no getting around this, or is there?

These interesting manmade structures are called wildlife crossings or animal bridges and they have been built in order to let animals migrate safely and move freely through their natural habitat without being killed by cars.

The Alaskan government has spent a lot of money to protect its beautiful wildlife. They have been "landscaped" with trees, rocks, and other foliage to blend in with the natural surroundings.

The bridges serve a double role, as they also reduce the number of animal-car accidents.
