Back in September we were reporting about the newest Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Drive campaign, which was to feature none other than Formula 1 multiple champion, Michael Schumacher.
Most of the array of active safety systems which comprise the Intelligent Drive philosophy are already found on the Mercedes-Benz flagship, the S-Class W222, while others are featured by the facelifted E-Class family of models, but these two are only the beginning.
Unlike ever before, the upcoming fourth generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class will mirror most of the driver assistance systems from its bigger brothers from the day that it is launched.
Mercedes-Benz brand ambassador Michael Schumacher was recently invited to a secluded proving ground site called SimCity, in Sindelfingen, where he was given the wheel of a pre-production C-Class in order to test all the latest active safety systems that the model will sport.
“Nobody is able to give 100% concentration all the time over a longer period to cope with the car and traffic situation. Sometimes just a moment of inattention is enough. And that is precisely why I support intelligent assistance systems for passenger cars,” Schumacher said about Intelligent Drive.
