In one of the best marketing stunts we've seen in recent years, Mercedes-Benz persuaded two international movies stars to take part in a project that should most definitely become viral in the next few days.
Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson wanted to see what would be like to only use the water that their vehicle creates on board when camping for a couple of days in the hottest place on the planet: California's Death Valley.
Each actor has been driving a Mercedes-Benz B-Class F-Cell for over two years now, with their vehicles being part of a global F-Cell fleet consisting of around 200 vehicles in the US and Europe.
To further emphasize the potential of the fuel cell drive system, both Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson went for a camping trip in the heat of Death Valley without any water supply, as all their drinking water would be created onboard by the B-Class F-Cell.
“We've become absolute fans of the fuel cell. The car usage is so easy. On a day-to-day basis our normal mobility isn't restricted at all - and we had no water problems in Death Valley either”, reported Diane Kruger. “It takes three minutes to fill up, drives about 400 kilometers and gives off zero emissions - simply perfect”, added Joshua Jackson.
