We’re two days away from seeing that flag drop in Stockholm, Sweden. Around 120 teams will be there, pushing the pedal to the metal for an event that sees some of the most expensive cars on the planet embarking on a 3000-mile journey. This year’s edition will also have some specifics, as some rare collectables will be auctioned throughout the eccentric event.
Since Maximillion Cooper’s high-end rally has become of international acclaim, integrating any charity feature to it was the natural step to take. Sure, participants have been donating money for years know, with most of the proceeds going to the Gumball 3000 Foundation, but this year things role a little different.

Gumball 3000 has partnered up with Christie’s, the world’s largest art business and fine arts auction house founded in 1766. Put it this way, they offer around 450 sales annually in over 80 categories.

At each city along the route, The Gumball 3000 Foundation will host the live benefits auction. Those who can’t make it in person can bid online. The highest bid on each lot will be submitted to the live auction.

All proceeds benefit The Gumball 3000 Foundation, a grant-making institution that supports global youth philanthropy through its non-profit affiliates. According to Christie’s, beneficiaries of the organization include The Tony Hawk Foundation, When You Wish Upon A Star, The Sir Simon Milton Foundation, The Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund UK, The Westway Trust and Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.

KITT, Lewis Hamilton's driving gloves, F1 tickets

As to what issues are going under the hammer, we’ll just mention a couple of them. Since we’re talking about a rally, it’s fair to put Lewis Hamilton’s signed Puma driving gloves first. The winning bidder will also receive two VIP tickets to the F1 race of their choice, courtesy of the Mercedes-AMG F1 team.

Another issue that will most likely have everyone’s interest is the 1983 Knight Rider Pontiac Trans Am, which everybody knows as the KITT. The vehicle’s starting bid is $10,000, but Christie’s estimates it will fetch between $100,000 - $150,000. The list goes on with other collectables such as Tommy Lee’s signed Remo snare drum, Mike Tyson’s boxing gloves and others.
