Yanks Get a Taste of the New C Class

Most of the times, Europeans are the first to get the newest models from Mercedes, and the launch of the new C Class is following the same line. This entry level luxury car was launched in Europe on the 18th of January, but now, the time has come for Americans to get a taste of the new C Class. The first to see the new model will be those who live in the Big Apple, because the German sedan will be present in the New York International Auto Show.

This event will be open to the public between April 6 and 15, taking place at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in Manhattan. Keep in mind that this is only a preview of the new C Class, the model being available for purchase (in the US) starting with fall 2007. Americans will get three V6 powered models, the C350 Sport, C300 Luxury and C300 Sport.

All versions will be equipped as a standard with power sunroof, two-zone automatic climate control, eight-way power front seats, Bluetooth connectivity, central console with a seven inch display screen and 17 inch wheels. For the C300 models, a 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system will be available, together with the 7G-Tronic  seven speed transmission.

As always, Mercedes delivers when it comes to audio systems, and the eight speaker, 100 watt audio system more than does the job. It has mp3 support, mp3 plug in the glove compartment. If you want extra power, you could opt for the 450 watt system from LOGIC7, with Dolby Digital DTS 5.1 surround sound, but you don't want a home cinema system in your C Class. Cars are meant for driving...
