Woman Driver Takes Bank Customers Hostage

Though she didn’t have any intention to rob the bank, a young woman somehow managed to block several customers inside a bank in Timisoara, Romania. With all the free parking lots in the area, she chose to park her car, a Volkswagen Polo, only a few inches from the bank’s door.

This way, nobody could enter or exit the bank for about an hour. Without realizing what she had done, the woman got out of the car and went shopping nearby.

The ‘outstanding’ parking made by the young lady blocked the bank’s customers inside, some of them talking with the realitatea.net reporters through the small door opening. Both amused and somewhat panicked, all they could do was wait. And they waited, and waited...

Some of the bank’s employees even got frightened thinking that it could be a trap, a part of a robbery plan. They started making some calls. Unfortunately, since it all happened on Saturday, those who were supposed to lift the car were not working, so all the police could do was to stick a note to the car’s windshield and wait for the woman to come back.

After one hour in which everybody was wondering what should be done, the young driver came back from shopping, all calm and relaxed. When asked if she hadn't seen that she parked right in front of the bank’s door, the woman said that she noticed and that she was leaving right away.

She thought wrong. The police had no intention to let her leave just like that. We don’t know exactly if she was fined for parking there, but the customers were sure happy to be free at last.
